It depends on which portion you are doing if it os closed to mouth then it can cause image distortion and if not ,no problem should be there but give this information toghe person who is doing he will set the timing and postion.

PFM crowns are generally considered safe for MRI ,only the metal part can interfere with the magnetic field and cause artifacts or distortion of image if in near vicinity, the amount of which depends on which metal is used in the crown.
Next Steps
Please let the MRI technician know ,as they may adjust scanning parameters or take extra precautions

Porcelain fused metal crowns will not have much problem but due to the metal in the crown the image distortion may happen if the MRI is done in head and neck region. Studies say slight discomfort may happen to the patient in that tooth region

Most of the times these MRI machines are quite safe with dental crowns .However you may enquire it with the radiologist present there for your safe side and let him know that you have got pfm crowns.

Hi! PFM crowns are generally safe for MRI. They won’t harm you, but the metal inside may cause some image distortion if the scan is close to your mouth. Since you’re getting a cervical spine MRI, inform the MRI technician beforehand so they can adjust the scan settings or take precautions.
