Pain, redness and fever after tetanus
I received a tetanus injection in my buttock around 2–3 days ago. Since then, I have had persistent pain and redness at the injection site, which has not decreased. I am also having fever and body pain. Please advise whether these are normal side effects of the tetanus injection or whether I need to be examined.

While mild soreness and slight redness are normal within 24 to 48 hours of a tetanus injection, persistent pain and non-decreasing redness 2 to 3 days later are atypical.

Do Not Squeeze or Massage: Avoid rubbing, massaging, or squeezing the painful area on the buttock, as this can potentially worsen a localized infection or spread bacteria deeper into the tissue.
Apply a Cool Compress: Place a clean, cool, damp cloth over the injection site for 15 to 20 minutes at a time to help naturally soothe local inflammation and ease the throbbing pain.
Trace the Redness: Use a skin-safe pen to lightly draw a line around the current border of the redness to easily track whether the inflammation is expanding or shrinking over the next few hours.

Apply compress at the site this is a normal reaction in case the fever did not subside in 2 more days do consult…you can also take paracetamol 500 for some relief in pain and fever .

Ice FOAMNTATION three times till redness pain subsides.
Tab zerodol sp three times a day after food for 3to5 days.
Augmentine duo625 three times a day after food for 7 days.
Montek lc one at night for five days.

If the pain is mild then it’s normal and will subside in few days

Do some cold compression over the site , 2 to 3 times daily. Take tab ciprofloxacin 500mg one morning and one evening for 5days,
tab voveran 50mg every 8hours for 3 days, after meals.

1. Rarely side effects occur , and after injection initially they settle on their own, If not subsided apply cold ice pack over the prick site.

For fever you can take paracetamol 500 mg TDS....
Fitness vaccine it is a toxoid vaccine so the chances of having fever are less but if it is coming then you can take the above drug ....

1/3 of food plate should contain bread ( or 4 roti ), pasta, potato and rice.

Redness and pain at the injection site usually last a day or two.if it's increasing, injection abscess should be considered.apply ice pack over the affected area,take tablet ibuprofen as needed.Consult a physician in your area for a clinical examination and appropriate treatment if it's not resolved
