Pain, redness and fever after tetanus
I received a tetanus injection in my buttock around 2–3 days ago. Since then, I have had persistent pain and redness at the injection site, which has not decreased. I am also having fever and body pain. Please advise whether these are normal side effects of the tetanus injection or whether I need to be examined.

Redness and pain at the injection site usually last a day or two.if it's increasing, injection abscess should be considered.apply ice pack over the affected area,take tablet ibuprofen as needed.Consult a physician in your area for a clinical examination and appropriate treatment if it's not resolved

1. Rarely side effects occur , and after injection initially they settle on their own, If not subsided apply cold ice pack over the prick site.
2. 2-3days passed and as question is raised whether to be examined or not , kindly consult for further evaluation and management....

For fever you can take paracetamol 500 mg TDS....
Fitness vaccine it is a toxoid vaccine so the chances of having fever are less but if it is coming then you can take the above drug ....

Mild soreness after a tetanus shot is common, but fever with spreading redness three days in points to more than a normal reaction.
