Heel pain lasting for months is most often due to plantar fasciitis (inflammation of the tissue under the heel) or sometimes heel spurs, Achilles tendon issues, or flat foot problems. Since yours has persisted since April and is now making walking difficult, it needs evaluation. First steps are to rest the foot, avoid walking barefoot on hard floors, use cushioned footwear or silicone heel pads, and do calf and plantar fascia stretches twice daily. An X-ray or ultrasound of the heel can help confirm the cause. If pain is severe or worsening, an orthopedic consult is needed - in some cases, physiotherapy, night splints, or local injections may be required. For a proper assessment and personalized plan, book a consult on Practo or visit an orthopedic clinic near you.
