According to the ENT, the patches will never regress, Just the redness on those patches will go off with time. I am unable to eat a particle of chilly even. Wanted to know what should the action and line of treatment. How can i get rid of these patches.I was in habit of smoking and chewing pan masala for 10years and these patches have developed post the cessation of my habit of chewing pan masala. Wanted to know why after cessation i got these patches because when i was using the pan masala i just had osmf and not these patches. I am much worried about these patches. And every day i see somewhere or the other deep pink areas inside my cheeks. Can you please help me doctor and what should b done.

Dr Enosh Steward here Oral & Maxillofacial and Facial Plastic Surgeon, Vadodara. First or all, the ideal person to deal with this would be an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Now as you have a long history of pam masala chewing, what has happened is the mucosa of your cheeks have got atrophic getting fibrous adhesions in the submucosal layer leading to reduction in mouth opening. And due to atrophic mucosa, any hot or spicy stuff you eat, you would get burning sensation.
Next Steps
if your complain is with discoloration and your mouth opening is good enough, then laser therapy can be done if mouth opening to be improved, would recommend you a surgery called fibrotomy and using interpositional fat or nasolabial flap. if just burning sensation, then anesthetic tubes would provide you symptomatic treatment
