Open Abdomen hysterectomy risks
My mother has been advised hysterectomy due to fibroids and bleeding issue,. Consulting doctor said if possible they will try for laparoscopic but if they find any difficulty then they will do open surgery. My mother had previously undergone 2 C-sections with vertical incision. Just want to know which mode of hysterectomy will be best for her and what are the risk factors related with open abdomen. Is it highly successful procedure? Really worried as it's about my mom's life and I don't want to take risk. Please suggest.

Your treating Doctor is the best person to do the counseling. Previous two Caesareans through a vertical incision may make laparoscopy surgery difficult. And complications may be difficult to tackle. I personally would have done an open abdominal hysterectomy for her.
