A friend of mine has an overthinking issue where he constantly thinking about issues which are not really important or which are harmless to him however most of the times these thoughts are in negative manner which causes him frequent headaches also which leads to moods swings...he is Anti-social by nature...apparently he has a lot of work stress...also he smoke regularly. How can he control those negative thoughts and also the headache are regular.

After careful evaluation of your history....I feel this may be Anxiety Depression features. Over thinking is the rumination process.
As him to under go a personality assessment. And mood chat....if there are mood swings we may start early treatment...
