Need medication
Doctor, for the last 6–7 weeks I have been having continuous problems with my stool. In the beginning, I was passing stool up to 18 times a day, often with only small amounts and with a lot of urgency. Now the frequency has reduced to about 5–6 times daily, but the stool is still not normal. Sometimes it is watery, sometimes soft or in small pieces. The color has been yellow most of the time, but occasionally green. Many times it contains mucus, and once after eating heavy fried food during travel, I passed about 2 teaspoons of fresh blood. I often feel an urge to pass stool but very little comes out, and I don’t feel fully relieved. At times I also feel a needle-like pricking sensation on one side of the anus. After passing stool, I sometimes get a cooling sensation in the stomach. The smell of the stool is quite strong, especially after eating oily or rich food, while a bland diet gives some relief. I have not had much abdominal pain or fever. can you suggest medicine?? appetitewnl.

Your symptoms suggest chronic infection or irritable bowel inflammation, possibly post-infectious colitis. The mucus and occasional blood need stool tests and possibly colon evaluation before starting medicine. Avoid oily food, take probiotics, and stay hydrated. Please consult me online so I can assess your reports and prescribe the right treatment safely.

Hello Your symptoms suggest chronic infective or inflammatory bowel condition — possibilities include Amoebic colitis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) with post-infectious component, or Ulcerative colitis (early stage). Drotaverine 80 mg TDS for cramping (if any) Syrup Lactobacillus (Econorm/Sporlac) 1 sachet twice daily × 5 days ORS and soft diet, avoid milk, spicy, oily food for now If mucus or blood persists, colonoscopy is essential to rule out ulcerative colitis or polyps.
