I have blood pressure problem and doctors prescribed Vinicor D 20 mg . I've been taking it for 1-2 weeks but lately it's making my heart pound or beating in throbbing mode usually starting in the evening.( I take it in the morning at 11am )
I'm unable to sleep properly at night and the heart throbbing makes me wake up constantly at night.
Is the side effects normal or do I need to change medication?

Hi,
This is a common side effect of Vinicor D in the initial weeks.
It improves with time, but the sleep disturbance needs attention.
Don't stop the medicine monitor BP and discuss with your doctor for possible dose adjustment or alternative.
Feel free to consult for further guidance. 👍

It usually work good for most of the patients .
As a normal side effect it may be because of reflex tachycardia due to decrease in BP .
Or the symptoms you say are suggesting that it may be side effect of the medication u are taking ..
Metoprolol keeps a check on ur heart rate ..
But in some patients and overdose it can cause AV block and precipitate arrythmias which can lead to ur symtpoms
Secondly chlorthalidone can cause Hypokalemia which can also add to the symtpom.
But dont abruptly stop the medication .
