Hello, I understand how distressing and confusing this feels. What you are describing sounds very much like OCD-related intrusive sexual thoughts and compulsive urges, not a reflection of your character, morals, or real desires. A few important points to clarify: Intrusive sexual thoughts are a known and common symptom of OCD OCD can attach itself to sexual themes, causing unwanted, repetitive, disturbing thoughts and urges. These thoughts feel forced and go against your values - that itself is a key feature of OCD. Medicines do not “create bad thoughts,” but sometimes unmask or shift OCD themes Some OCD medicines, especially in early phases or at incorrect doses, can temporarily: • Increase anxiety • Increase mental restlessness • Make intrusive thoughts feel louder or more frequent This does not mean the medicine is useless or harmful - it often means the dose, choice, or combination needs adjustment. Urges to masturbate or watch porn can be compulsions, not desires In OCD, compulsions are done to reduce anxiety caused by intrusive thoughts. Relief is short-lived, followed by guilt and worsening anxiety - which keeps the cycle going. Stopping or changing medicines on your own can worsen symptoms Abrupt changes may intensify intrusive thoughts. Medication changes should always be planned and supervised.
Next Steps
- Consult a psychiatrist with OCD expertise for: Review of current medicine, dose, and duration Possible dose optimization or medicine change Assessment for augmentation if needed - Start structured CBT with Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) - Medication alone is often not enough for sexual-thought OCD. ERP is highly effective and evidence-based. - Do not suppress, analyze, or fight the thoughts Fighting them increases their power. Learning how to respond differently is key.

Hi I want to reassure you that what you are experiencing is not you and not your desire. In some people, OCD medicines especially SSRIs or dose increasescan temporarily increase intrusive sexual thoughts, urges, restlessness, or a pull toward porn. This is OCD combined with medication activation, not loss of control or character change. Thoughts do not mean intention, and feeling “forced” is an urge signal, not an order. Acting on it may give short relief but actually strengthens OCD, while avoiding suppression and delaying response helps the urge pass. This does not mean permanent damage, and often improves with dose adjustment or medication change along with proper CBT-ERP therapy. Take therapy. You can connect with me on nine two six six seven two six zero six five.
