Any ulcer caused due to traumatic injury will take approximately 6 to 8 days for complete healing..... in that time you can use anaesthetic ointments like dologel CT for symptomatic relief..... please consult a dentist if the ulcer persists for more than 8 to 10 days..... Regards.....

Do not worry . The tongue cuts due to sudden bite or attrited teeeth or broken teeth.. that teeth may be sharp like knief edge..first that need to be solved by rounding sharp teeth.after that rinse with warm salt water thrice daily as home remedy..can apply honey. Visit dentist for good antiseptic gel or anaesthetic gel to avoid pain during eating. It will be solve within a week.. if not further treatment needed

Hi. Thank you for posting your query.Traumatic ulcers can be really painful. Is this a first episode of tongue trauma or does it happen frequently? If it happens frequently you need to get your teeth checked by a dentist for a sharp tooth cusp or improper occlusion.Apply a topical Anaestheic ointment like mucopain to prevent the burning sensation while eating and to get relief from the pain.Be very careful not to injure the area again. It will heal within a week.
