I am having mouth ulcers which go on their own but they reappear, facing this problem from approximately 2 months. what could be the reason and is it serious

Hi, The most common reason for this is when the temperature outside is extremely hot- you tend to not drink enough water and a dry mouth increases the chances of ulcers If you have sharp teeth, that could be an added reason. Simple vitamin deficiencies can also lead to ulcers It's important to see how these ulcers hear- do they leave behind a scar or not.

It would be better if there is more description. Are theese painful? Check for any tooth problems also For these ulcers if they are resolving and recurring you can use tab riboflavin for 15 days

It is necessary to see what kind of ulcers are there. mostly they are aphthous ulcers which hare caused due to many factors. At least send a picture of ulcer to help in proper diagnosis and management

If you are having recurrent ulcers then it can be there because of nutritional deficiencies,Gastric issues, constipation etc

Mainly  folic acid , b12 deficiency. Zytee lotion before meals two times,  nothing by mouth till 30min. After meal Candid lotion. Folic acid5 2 times a day after food for 3 weeks.  Becosul z one at night for 3 weeks.

This could be due to various causes 1)Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis (RAS) 2) Nutritional Deficiencies Especially Vitamin B12, Iron, Folate (B9), or Zinc. 3) Stress and Lack of Sleep 4) Gastrointestinal Issues 5) Allergic Reactions or Sensitivities: 6) Hormonal Factors: 7) Immunosuppression or Autoimmune Disorders: See a doctor or if: Ulcers last more than 2 weeks without healing. They are very painful or interfere with eating/talking. You have unexplained weight loss, fever, or fatigue. Investigations: CBC (Complete Blood Count) Vitamin B12, Folate, Iron studies ESR/CRP (if suspecting autoimmune cause) HIV testing (if other risk factors) Celiac panel, if GI symptoms present Management: Use topical antiseptic/anesthetic gels (e.g., benzocaine, choline salicylate). Rinse with saltwater or chlorhexidine mouthwash. Avoid spicy, acidic, or sharp foods. Keep stress in check and maintain good sleep hygiene.

Please share details,  duration of ulcers, are they painful? Do you take tobacco or gutka? Do you have constipation? Take tab doxycycline 300mg one morning and one evening for 7 days. Tab combiflam one every 8hours for 3 days after meals, tab neurobion one morning and one evening for 15 days. Apply orocer gel over mouth ul ers with a clean finger 2 times daily for a week.

Mouth ulcers also called aphthous ulcers or canker sores are a common issue, and while usually not serious, they can sometimes point to underlying deficiencies or health conditions if they persist for months or show recurrence Now let’s rule out the cause 1) Nutritional Deficiencies Often missed but very common: • Vitamin B12 deficiency • Iron deficiency • Folate deficiency • Zinc deficiency 2) Stress and Fatigue Mental or physical stress can trigger ulcers in otherwise healthy people. 3) Local Trauma • Brushing too hard • Accidentally biting the cheek • Sharp teeth or dental appliances 4) Hormonal Changes Some people experience ulcers during hormonal fluctuations (e.g., menstrual cycle, postpartum). Since you’re a female might getting the hormone levels checked 5) Certain Foods • Spicy, acidic, or hard foods (like chips or nuts) • Allergies or sensitivities to food preservatives (e.g., sodium lauryl sulfate in toothpaste) 6) Very Rare Underlying Medical Conditions If ulcers are persistent, large, or painful, consider: • Celiac disease • Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s, ulcerative colitis) • Behçet’s disease (if also associated with genital ulcers, eye inflammation) Suggested Blood Tests: • CBC • Serum Vitamin B12 • Serum Folate • Serum Ferritin/Iron • Zinc levels General Treatment: • Topical anesthetics: Benzocaine, lidocaine gels - Comes with the name Zytee Gel or Ora Flora apply on the ulcers three times a day and don’t rinse • Topical steroids: Triamcinolone acetonide • Mouthwashes: Chlorhexidine or saltwater gargles • Vitamin B-complex supplements ( Tab Zebineuron 1 tab Orally once a Day for at least 1 month ) and can also try an Antacid like Tab Pantop 40 one tab Once a day for 5 days along with this

Mouth ulcers can have varied reasons ranging from nutritional deficiencies, chronic smoking or tobacco chewing . Even ill fitted dentures or sharp teeth can also contribute towards . The position you’re having ulcers can also indicate towards its severity .
