1. Are these symptoms of HIV? — NO
None of your symptoms match acute HIV infection.
Your symptoms:
• Mouth ulcers
• Gas, burping, nausea
• Decreased appetite
• Thigh pain
• Recurrent mild ulcers
• Anxiety after exposure
These are not symptoms of acute HIV.
They are common, non-specific, and usually related to:
• Stress/anxiety after sexual activity
• Gastric irritation from Tada (tadalafil)
• Gastric irritation from painkillers (NSAIDs)
• Lack of sleep, dehydration
• Vitamin B / folate deficiency
• Mild acid reflux
Acute HIV does not show symptoms in 1–3 days.
Your symptoms started on Day 2, which is too early and not typical.
⸻
2. How soon do HIV symptoms appear?
If symptoms appear (many people have none):
• Earliest = 2 weeks after exposure
• Common = 2–4 weeks
• Never within 1–5 days
So your symptoms cannot be from HIV.
⸻
3. Why mouth ulcers and gas started?
A) Mouth ulcers
Caused by:
• Stress
• Lack of sleep
• Dehydration
• Vitamin B deficiency
• Reaction to painkillers
• Gastric irritation
You took:
• Tada tablets 2 days before sex + during sex
• Painkiller for thigh pain
Both can irritate gastric lining → mouth ulcers.
B) Gas + nausea + burping
This is classic gastritis / acid reflux, caused by:
• Tadalafil
• Painkillers
• Anxiety
• Taking medicines on empty stomach
C) Thigh pain
Happened after sex → muscular strain.
Got better after one dose of painkiller → confirms it was muscle pain, not infection.
⸻
4. Condom break risk?
You said:
• Condom broke after 20 minutes
• You immediately changed to a new one
This means:
• Exposure time was brief
• You acted quickly
• Risk is low
• Risk is much lower if the partner was not HIV-positive
Also:
HIV transmission male→female→male through a brief break is statistically low.
⸻
5. What you should do now
For peace of mind, follow standard protocol:
A) HIV test timeline
• 4th generation HIV test at Day 28 (4 weeks) → almost conclusive
• If negative, usually no further testing needed
• Optional repeat at 3 months if doctor recommends
B) For your symptoms
• Continue your gas tablet for 5–7 days
• Do not take too many painkillers
• Drink enough water
• Take Vitamin B-complex daily for 1–2 weeks
• Eat light food
Mouth ulcers will heal in 3–5 days.
Health Tips
Nothing in your story indicates HIV.
Your symptoms timeline is too early
AND your symptoms do not match acute HIV
AND your condom break exposure was low risk.
This is stress + gastritis + medicine side effects, not HIV.
No, your symptoms are not typical of HIV.
HIV symptoms usually do not appear within a week; initial symptoms (if any) typically occur 2–4 weeks after exposure.
Mouth ulcers, gas, mild leg pain, or vomiting are common with many other causes like minor infections, stress, or digestive issues.
Using a condom, even with a break, and then replacing it quickly, greatly reduces HIV risk.
Advice:
Monitor your health.
Get a HIV test after 4–6 weeks and again at 3 months for confirmation if concerned.
See a doctor if symptoms worsen or persist.
No need to panic now; these are most likely unrelated to HIV.

For soreness
Tab folic acid5 MG two times after food for 2 weeks.

Good day to you sir
I understand your concern and I am sure this must be distressing causing a hindrance in your day to day activities. I shall try to the best of my abilities to consult you
I would like to ask a question for better differential diagnosis
#ls there any fever?
# Is there any painful swelling in the inner thigh? Or at any other part of the body
This can help reach the diagnosis however it will still need extensive workup to be able to completely rule out any severe diseases which need immediate treatment like HIV
HIV is most commonly spread via sexual route and risk is increased in your case as the condom tore even though you were mindful of engaging in protected intercourse
Thus it will require tests and cannot be known only through history
I urge you to get in touch through one on one consultation with your family physician or any physician who you are comfortable with.
Next Steps
It will require extensive workup (history, investigations) to reach the root cause of the issue followed by corresponding treatment plan

Hello, I am Dr Romain Rajan, General Physician. Your case has been allotted to me.
I understand your concern. This situation can create a lot of anxiety, especially when symptoms appear after sexual activity. But based on what you have described, your symptoms do not match early HIV infection, and the timeline also does not fit HIV presentation.
Let me explain clearly and calmly.
Advices
1 Stay hydrated and avoid spicy or acidic foods as they worsen mouth ulcers and gastric symptoms.
2 Avoid repeated painkillers because they can irritate the stomach and cause gas, nausea and mouth ulcers.
3 Take adequate rest as stress and lack of sleep worsen acidity and ulcers.
What to Monitor
1 Persistent fever for more than three days.
2 Rash on body.
3 Severe sore throat not improving with basic care.
Management
Your symptoms
⢠Mouth ulcers
⢠Gas, burping and nausea
⢠Thigh pain that recovered with painkiller
⢠Loss of appetite
⢠Anxiety after sex
These symptoms are commonly due to
⢠Gastritis from tablets like tadalafil and painkillers
⢠Stress related stomach upset
⢠Mild viral infection unrelated to HIV
⢠Dehydration or nutritional deficiency
HIV symptoms do not appear within one to two days of exposure. When symptoms occur, they usually appear after two to six weeks, not immediately.
Mouth ulcers caused by HIV are usually part of a bigger illness with high fever, severe throat pain and body rash. You do not have these symptoms.
Regarding the condom
The condom broke after twenty minutes, and you immediately replaced it. This reduces risk significantly. If the partner was also HIV negative, the risk is almost zero.
If you want a peace of mind, you can do
⢠HIV Combo test at 14 days
⢠Final conclusive test at 28 days
I can guide you which test is best if you want to be sure.
When to Consult a Doctor Immediately
1 Persistent vomiting
2 Black stool
3 Severe abdominal pain after taking medicines
Every patientâs situation is unique. For accurate diagnosis and lasting relief, it is important to discuss the exposure details, symptoms, medicines taken and your anxiety level in detail.
You can reach out to me directly for this case and also connect with me in future for any medical consultation. I am available on Practo or on WhatsApp at 85271646 seven seven for a one on one consultation where you will receive
