Hello, I am Dr. Romain Rajan, General Physician. I understand your concern recurrent mouth ulcers with swollen lips that improve with medication but return after stopping may indicate an underlying condition beyond simple irritation. This could be related to nutritional deficiencies, autoimmune conditions, or chronic inflammatory issues. ✅ Advices • Maintain good oral hygiene and avoid spicy, acidic, or hard foods that can trigger ulcers • Ensure a balanced diet rich in iron, vitamin B12, folate, and vitamin C • Avoid stress and ensure adequate sleep, as these can worsen recurrent ulcers What to Monitor • Frequency, size, and location of ulcers • Associated symptoms such as fever, fatigue, or joint pain • Any difficulty swallowing or speaking Management You may continue short-term symptomatic medication for relief, but long-term management requires identifying the underlying cause. Self-medicating repeatedly is not advised, as the root issue may remain untreated. When to Consult a Doctor Immediately • Large or persistent ulcers lasting more than 2–3 weeks • Difficulty eating, drinking, or swallowing • Blood in ulcers or signs of systemic illness like fever or weight loss Given the recurrent nature, it is advisable to consult a dermatologist or oral medicine specialist. They can evaluate for autoimmune, nutritional, or other chronic conditions causing repeated ulcers and provide a long-term solution. Every patient’s situation is unique. For accurate diagnosis and lasting relief, it is important to review your medical history, previous treatments, and perform relevant investigations. 👉 You can reach out to me directly for this case, and also connect with me in future for any medical consultation. I am available on Practo or on WhatsApp at 85271646 seven seven for a one-on-one consultation, where you’ll receive: A personalized treatment plan Safe medicine adjustments if required Quick follow-ups to track your recovery Take care, wishing you good health. Best regards, Dr. Romain Rajan General Physician

Frequent mouth ulcers and swollen lips that improve with medicines but return later usually suggest a hidden underlying cause such as: Vitamin B12, folate, or iron deficiency Hormonal or stress-related imbalance Allergy to certain foods or toothpaste Less commonly, autoimmune conditions (aphthous stomatitis, Behçet’s, etc.) These issues don’t resolve permanently unless the root cause is treated. Short-term medicines only suppress symptoms. A few simple tests and dietary adjustments often bring lasting relief. I specialize in managing such chronic mouth ulcers and mucosal conditions with a long-term, preventive approach — not just symptom control. Please book a detailed online consultation with me on whatsapp at Eight zero zero nine eight two one double three two Or Nine three two six zero two zero five three six  so I can review your history, labs, and photographs to design a plan that stops the ulcers from recurring.
