Metformin for PCOD
I have been diagnosed with the beginning of PCOD . My face is full of cystic acne and weight has been gaining. I have been on Rediva MA for a month. I am experiencing improvements in all aspects except acne. Now my gynae has asked to start metformin 500. My query is that my blood sugar stays on lower side. Will having metformin with Inositol be a concern on my blood sugar?

Metformin alone doesn't cause much change in blood glucose levels if it is used alone. It does improve insulin resistance which is very commonly associated with PCOS.

Metaformin would not affect unless one is diabetic. Myoinisitol does help and both metaformin and myoinosital are available as a single tablet.Small frquent meals would keep sugars in a balance.

Not as such. PCOD patients already have high insulin resistance so their sugar is not affected by metformin usually. You can take it.
