Lump, swelling, pain in underarm.
Hi, I had a lump on one armpit and swelling and pain in the breast and then it happened on the other side too, along with fever and the pain reached the shoulder and arm, I wasn't been able to move my hand at all for two days. I was on antibiotics for two weeks. I have done CBC and it has shown iron deficiency. This lumps and pain has reduced but then I missed my periods and instead I am getting a sticky discharge with a very little blood in it not like normal periods flow. I am late by 7 days already. I am getting intermittent abdominal cramps and fever and body ache since yesterday along with vomiting. Past few weeks have been very stressful as I am unable to attend my work as well due to the continuous ongoing medical issues. Kindly help me understand the possible reason for all of the above and how to make these better.

Your problem started with a swelling in the armpit. Then you develop pain in the breast . Then you get a fever and pain in the arm. Then you can't move your hand (arm) for 2 days. Then you get your CBC done. In the report you are more interested in the iron deficiency anaemia but not in the evidence of infection. At no stage you have had your chest examination done (which should give a possible clue to your fever) . Please consult a General Physician first and get your chest, shoulder and breast examined.  You should also get a urine pregnancy test done. Further management will depend on all these.

Hello Ma’am, From what you describe, there are a few things happening together — swelling and pain in the armpit and breast (which could have been an infection or inflammation), iron deficiency, and now missed periods with abnormal discharge, cramps, fever, and vomiting. Since the problems are ongoing and affecting both general health and menstrual cycle, it is important not to ignore them. Stress and nutritional deficiencies can sometimes disturb periods, but infection, hormonal imbalance, or even gynecological causes should be ruled out. At this stage, I would strongly advise a proper evaluation. Basic tests like CBC (already done), urine test, pregnancy test, and ultrasound abdomen/pelvis may be needed to find the exact cause. A physical examination by a doctor is also important since fever and body ache suggest an active issue. Meanwhile, continue good hydration, balanced diet, and rest, but please don’t delay medical check-up. I hope it helps you. For more info you can contact me, just go to my profile.

From what you describe, there are several issues together. breast lumps and pain with fever, missed periods with abnormal discharge, abdominal cramps, vomiting, and ongoing body ache. These symptoms may not be linked to just one cause and need proper evaluation. Iron deficiency on your CBC can explain tiredness and body ache, but your current fever, abdominal symptoms, and menstrual changes need urgent assessment. It is not possible to confirm the exact reason without a physical examination and further tests such as ultrasound, repeat blood tests, and urine pregnancy test.
Next Steps
Please consult in person as soon as possible for examination. Continue hydration and take paracetamol if fever, body ache is troubling. Do not ignore worsening pain, persistent vomiting, or heavy bleeding. seek emergency care if that happens.

You’ve done the right thing by reaching out but your symptoms now need direct medical attention.

If the lumps are still present please visit an interventional radiologist or pathologist who will do fnac or true cut biopsy of the lump. It has to be sent for specific tests like cytology and cbnaat.
