Lower UTI symptoms
Since day before yesterday I've had frequent urinary urgency. Sometimes I feel like I need to pee even when my bladder isn't full. There's been mild burning toward the end of urination, which has improved today. I now have a mild pain in the centre/lower abdomen just above the pubic area. I had intercourse two days ago with my regular partner.

Care AI Shimmer
This is a classic post-coital lower UTI (cystitis) - urgency, burning at the end of the stream and that dull ache just above the pubic bone. Drink plenty of water through the day, pass urine after intercourse, and don't hold urine. Most such episodes need a short 3-day antibiotic course such as nitrofurantoin, chosen after a urine routine and culture. Do not take leftover antibiotics from home, that is how resistance starts.
Next Steps
Get a urine routine and culture done, and start treatment on that basis. Fever with chills, back or flank pain, vomiting or blood in urine means the infection has gone up to the kidney and you must be seen the same day. You can book a Practo consult with me and I will prescribe the right antibiotic for you.
