Low iron, vit b12 and d
Hi Doctor, I recently had blood tests and would like your advice based on my reports. My results are: - Haemoglobin: 12.1 g/dL - Ferritin: 20.7 ng/mL - Serum iron: 37.44 µg/dL - Transferrin saturation: 8.66% - Vitamin B12: 164 pg/mL - Vitamin D: 18.3 ng/mL Could you please review my data and advise on the appropriate medicines, doses and duration? Do I need any further tests to understand the cause of the low iron, and when should I repeat my blood tests? I dont have any other medical conditions, this blood test was regular blood check.

Your reports show a pattern of iron deficiency, your ferritin, serum iron and transferrin saturation are all on the low side even though your haemoglobin hasn't dropped yet. Your B12 and vitamin D are also low. These three together are common and usually respond well to supplementation.
Next Steps
Iron, B12 and vitamin D supplements are all reasonable here, but the exact strength and duration depend on your full picture, so please see a physician or gynaecologist to get those prescribed properly. Ask about checking what's causing the iron deficiency too, since it's worth finding the reason rather than only treating the numbers.
Health Tips
A repeat blood test after about 2 to 3 months of treatment will show whether the levels are improving as expected.
