This looks like acute food-related gastroenteritis causing loose stools and vomiting. Since there is no severe pain or fever, it is usually mild and settles in a few days with proper fluids and simple treatment.
Next Steps
Start oral rehydration solution (ORS) frequently to prevent dehydration. For vomiting, ondansetron can be used if prescribed, and for loose stools a probiotic or racecadotril is commonly given. Your wife can continue breastfeeding safely, as it helps protect the baby.
Health Tips
Avoid outside food, oily and spicy items for a few days and take soft home food. Drink plenty of fluids like ORS, coconut water, and clear soups. If there is blood in stools, high fever, severe weakness, or reduced urine, visit a doctor immediately.

This sounds like acute gastroenteritis / food poisoning, which is common after outside food. Loose stools for 3 days and a single episode of vomiting without pain or fever usually indicates a mild infection or food-related irritation. The most important treatment is rehydration. Breastfeeding should be continued — it is safe and beneficial for the baby. ⚠️ Avoid • Anti-diarrheal drugs like loperamide unless advised • Self-starting antibiotics (often not needed and can worsen symptoms)
Next Steps
• Increase fluids: ORS, water, rice water, soup • Light diet: banana, rice, curd, toast • Monitor for dehydration (low urine, dry mouth, dizziness) • If loose stools persist >5 days, fever appears, blood in stool, or vomiting increases → consult immediately
Health Tips
• Continue breastfeeding normally • Wash hands well to avoid spread • Avoid outside food until fully recovered
