KNEE PAIN.
My mom is having a knee pain from past one week. Reason unknown. She is having little problem walking and getting up. Please suggest me whether i should apply hot water fermentation or ice on her knees?? Also please suggest me any exercise for her.

Sudden onset pain without any history of injury or fall could be due to a strain. She should do a cold compression.

Your mom's knee pain could be due to muscle strain or ligament sprain. She should give hot water fomentation to the knee joint for 15-20 minutes twice a day for a week. She can use Volini gel or spray provided she is not allergic. She should do knee strengthening and stretching exercises once the pain subsides with proper guidance.

Avoid prolonged standing. Avoid floor sitting and full squat.

Hi .. Telling You Treatment for it .. First Do Knee Exercise: Flexion & Extention . Bend Your Knee up to it's maximum range and then open it .. Do 10 Moves. Each Leg . 2. Raise Your Leg Upward up to 45° then Down . Take Support from someone if needed. 3. Quadriceps Exercises : Sit on the Edge of Bed with Your Legs hanging Down. Try to Raise Your Leg Up from the knee . 10 Moves. Ankle Exercises: Lie Down on Bed Pull your Foot Towards You an than Other Side. 2. Do Ankle Movements Sideways. 3. Ankle Circular Movement. Use Hot Pack for 15 Minutes Twice Daily Before Exercises.

Hii, does she has swelling if swelling is their than you can use ice pack if their is a stiffness than hot pack is good , perform knee Rom exercises like knee bending in lying down and ankle movements forward and back and knee isometric exercise .

Hello, Does she feel any stiffness of the joint? Its better to use hot water fermentation for 15 min twice a day. Then apply any diclofenac ointment. Then start doing the knee isometric exercises twice a day that will strengthen the muscles surrounding the knee joint.

If there is pain apply ice pack three times a day 10 min-15min not more than that. Try to do exercises regularly like knee strengthening exercises. Static knee exercises.

She can use an ice cube pack for 7.5 minutes thrice a day fir 4-5 days and she would be better very soon. And she can perform the exercises described in this video link twice a day to strengthen the knee. https://youtu.be/cli2gtucv9m

1) If there is no swelling start doing hot fomentation twice a day for 1 week. 2)Appy  volini,or any pain killer ointment  twice daily Do mild quadricep setting ex's like knee press,slr ,Knee  extensions in chair,gentle knee movement..Don't force knee bending as of now. Thanks

Hiii,  first of all without examing the patient or evaluating it we can't  decide what the problem is. First step to take is tell her to avoid the thing which aggrivates the pain.
