I got knee injury 7 months back and still it hurts when I squad or climbing stairs.
I went to doctor and they told that I have arthritis in both legs...gap is less. ...but I don't know how this problem came after injury..

Hams Stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. repeat 10 times, twice a day.

In my opinion,this basically occurs post injury when you start doing activities with less strengthened muscles .So my advice is that if you are not feeling too much pain start doing knee strengthening exercises
