Knee and thigh pain
My husband got 4 stitches on his lower knee last Saturday and the stitch is healing but he is experiencing pain and swollen thighs if he takes an attempt to walk. We did take X-rays and everything's seems to be normal. We want it to heal quick cos he is traveling abroad this Monday the 30th. What do we do?? He is using ice bags in the swollen muscle but now thinking of trying ultrasound... any suggestions

Greetings,  sorry about the concern.  Your description about stitches is too vague to give recommendations.  The reason for stitches is not mentioned,  with this in mind I will give my recommendations. Making stitches heal faster cannot be done with anything,  it is a natural healing process and it entirely depends on your husband's health status.  try not to get distracted with ultrasound and other things,  these can give you comfort from pain or swelling, that is it.  Even ice pack does the same provided you are allowed to give ice on the sutured area
Next Steps
try not to have legs down, that is have legs elevated,  if possible use compression bandages.

• Contrast Fomentation (Hot and Cold). • Avoid Squatting- • Avoid sitting Cross legged • Contrast bath---It is a form of treatment in which knee is applied warm water followed by the immediate application of the knee with ice water. This procedure is repeated several times, alternating hot and cold. Note that the treatment should always end in the ice water, as heat will induce the body's inflammatory response, while cold helps to decrease inflammation.
