Knee pain only when jumping
Sports athlete. Knee pain only when jumping, background of Osgood sclatter when I was 9 but pain gradually subsided with PT a few years ago. I've been training my squats for around 3 years and can lift more than 2x my bodyweight with ZERO pain in my knees and I'm also pretty flexible but pain only strikes when I play volleyball or have intense jumping sessions.

It could be due to over strain. Proper warm up and cool down exercises should be done while playing.

Hey there! See, you are in a growing age and as far as bones are concerned, it has the ability to alter it's size, shape and structure in response to stress, which happens throughout life( though not perceptible). You have history of Osgood schlatters disease which is indicative of apophysitis and patellar tendnitis. I would like you to know that you should not worry. There should not be any harm due to training and play. Take precautions, wear knee braces. It's all due to restructuring of your knee and it is dealing with a shortcoming that is overuse. Plan your training sessions accordingly and try not to overdo anything. Add some balance training to your exercise routine. Add in some rest sessions also ;). Maintain strength and flexibility.
Next Steps
add Balance training. involve rest periods. avoid intense activities.
Health Tips
do not overdo as the problem you are facing is due to overuse.

Nothing to worry, its jumpers knee, wear knee cap while performing exercises, increase liquid intake and apply dilcofenac ointment if the pain increases and do hot /ice pack twice a day. Due to over use of muscles, its paiining, do stretching before starting any exercise.

Hello There, That's very good that you are training yourself better. The problem you are facing is know as Jumper's knee," also called patellar tendinopathy. In this when a patient jumps due to overloading or overuse it leads to the smaller tears in patella tendons. That gives a pain to the knee.
Next Steps
1.apply ice pack. 2.knee cap while playing. 3.Increase water intake. 4. pain killer drugs like diclofenac sodium 5.Isometric exercises. 6. before and after stretching exercises.
Health Tips
it is very easy to treat no need to fear. please take care . stay fit 💪. Dr.Mayano khurana MPT (Ortho)
