Knee pain - Seek advice for knee brace o
I am +77 years and have knee pain because of osteoarthritis. I am advised to use knee brace. Please advise what kind of knee brace it should be. Should it be with/without hinges and of what kind? I tried Tynor Ridged hinged knee cap but it did not help. Please advise. Thanks Dr. P. N. Rustagi

The function of the knee brace is to support the joint and reduce the load on it. It will not however help the pain , for that you need to take anti inflammation medicines and/or physiotherapy. You can also get better custom made knee braces that off load the joint completely and have a good joint mechanism, not just hinges as in Tynor.

please use a walking stick too to reduce load on painful knees
