method to deliver fluids or medication slowly into a vein over time. It uses a bag or bottle connected to the vein via a tubing and drip chamber, allowing gravity (or a pump) to control the flow
Health Tips
IV bolus: a quick injection of medication over a few minutes. IV push: a very fast injection, usually within seconds (commonly under 30 seconds) via a syringe attached directly to the IV line

It depends on the medication we give, because few are very very painful if given directly through the vein and injurious too.

It means anything which is given via your vein . Given either mixed in a bag of fluid as you correctly mentioned/ via a specialised syringe pump where you can set the flow rate. When you give directly via syringe thats called bolus.
Next Steps
Should be given by nurse practitioner . more safe at hospital/nursing home.
Health Tips
Involve a nurse practitioner even if you need to manage it at home. Home care facilities are available.
