It is not advisable to consume whey protein especially if you are inactive. The body doesn’t require excess protein, instead include natural food sources for protein. The weight will automatically increase if there is no workout and excess protein is consumed. Ask him to take our 1 week consultation program and have a proper balanced diet for him.

Protein powder is not recommended unless and until it is really required. In your brother's case he is taking protein but not working out. So protine is not being used here. Most of the time when protein is not used gets converted into glycogen and ultimately into fat. Hence ask him to take care of his meal intake as well as exercise.

Whey proteins can have harmful effects in the long run. It is not advisable to consume whey protein especially if your are inactive. Try to have protein from natural food sources like eggs, milk and other dairy products, whole pulses and legumes, and millets like ragi, amaranth, bajra, etc.

Until & unless your protein requirements are not upto the mark, don't add any artificial sources of protein in your diet. Take balanced & home cooked meals comprising all nutrients macros and micros. Take good fats, carbs n protein. Limit all processed preserved packaged and outside food completely. Stop hard drinks and smoking if any. Take good water intake of atleast 3-4 lit a day.
