Recently I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. I guess I won't be able to eat Soyabeans. Can I take Whey protein to fill my protein requirement? I have started going to gym to lose some weight

Hi
Can take whey protein and soya intermittently but not quite often...
Consuming plant based proteins is advised instead of animal proteins..as animal proteins are very high in fat..so better to avoid..and rely on phyto proteins..
Avoiding cruciferous vegetables like cabbage, cauliflower, turnips, raddish, broccoli, collard greens and brussels sprouts, bok choy etc..is beneficial in under active thyroid..
Include foods that improve the metabolism, that which enable to be more physically active all day through to be consumed daily ..
For further details contact through practo for a customized diet plan
Thankyou
Next Steps
taking medication regularly for hypothyroidism is very essential..without fail..
Health Tips
well balanced diet, except above mentioned cruciferous vegetables be better avoided , healthy lifestyle modifications such brisk walking, , plenty of water, high fiber foods, low gi foods, plant proteins, legumes, oats, bran, locally grown seasonal fruits and vegetables, low fat , almonds and walnuts , seeds, unstrained juices, small portion sized meals, millets etc...all to be consumed in moderation...
You need to take high fiber low fat followed by detox diet.Drink plenty of water every day.take small and frequent meals at regular intervals.avoid outside food completely. Please ask me directly for personalized diet plan for you.
All depends as per your tsh level. Best you can get your Ayurvedic body constitution ( vaat/ Pit/ kapha) and go accordingly, as sometimes there is a difference or excess heat disbalance in the body that may lead to hormonal disbalance. It will give you a fare idea what things to add or not? As well you can treat with a smaller period of time instead of taking medicine for a longer time.
Soya as a processed variants such as chunks ,nuggets can be best avoided with a hypothyroid condition but whether soya bean as a lentil.can be included or not depends on your TSH profile .
