Mulethi (Yashtimadhu) is excellent for acidity, but in sensitive individuals, it can raise blood pressure due to its glycyrrhizin content, which can cause sodium retention.
ð To avoid this:
Use Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice (DGL) form.
Limit dose to 250â500 mg once or twice daily under supervision.
Avoid taking it continuously or in high doses.
For safe long-term acidity relief, better Ayurvedic alternatives are Shatavari, Amla, or Kamdudha Ras. Kindly consult for a personalized prescription.
