My cousin has developed hump like structure in the upper back and below the neck
which makes his shoulders look like it is going downwards. I have seen this for past 10 years now. Can the posture be corrected and hump be removed with physio therapy or posture correction.

Hi mam,
Firstly, posture needs to be corrected and the humpback will be corrected simultaneously .
Requires a physio consultation for better examination and a therapy followed by the consult.
Thank you

Hi
Yes it can be corrected if it is postural in nature.
As you mentioned that it is 10 years old then he/she needs to be examined for the underlying cause. There are multiple conditions which causes these changes.
Next Steps
I would suggest you to visit doctor and get it examined first and if it is postural then physiotherapy will help.
Health Tips
He/she can do yoga poses for upper back stretching, that will help.
Hi, we appreciate you getting in touch. It looks like your cousin may be experiencing hyperkyphosis. In order to address the problem, physiotherapy may prescribe posture correction exercises. hence go to the physitherapy centre that is nearby initially. have an evaluation and begin therapy as soon as feasible.

Yes Sir, this problem can easily be corrected by Physiotherapy. X-ray scan is important to find out if there is any bony abnormality is there or not. We can proceed with the therapy.
Mostly such postures are due to musculoskeletal abnormalities that can be reversed.
Please consult your physiotherapist nearby to get rid of your worries.
