I have TMJ Disorder due to which I have jaw popping/clicking while opening and closing mouth. Not pain but the popping is there. As a result of TMJ I also have ringing and crackling in ear and ear pressure.
I have attached my OPG Xray.
I have impacted wisdom teeth on all sides.
I want to know that if I go for extraction of the impacted wisdom teeth, how will it help my TMJ?
Will it reduce any pressure on the jaw joint and will it prevent my jaw popping or ear problems from becoming worse?
I know it can reduce pain from TMJ but apart from reducing pain, will removing wisdom teeth be of any help for TMJ Disorder? Will it prevent my symptopms from becoming any worse?

Yes since the additional space in your jaw is occupied by impacted molars which are not in use it will help reduce the load on your tmj thereby reducing the symptoms
Moreover to help with the pressure and popping you can start with few exercises and a night guard, that will help with the pressure release over the joint
Yes wisdom teeth extraction helps u to relieve from discomfort to some extent.Physical examination is required to check for other parameters related to TMJ issue.Need to check ur occlusion means arrangement of teeth and then to be treated accordingly.Consult dentist.

Hi TMJ issues are to be treated as an individual problem. Removing wisdom teeth my not solve the tmj issue. It will not reduce the pressure on the joint.
However if there is pain in the wisdom tooth area then removing it helps.
You must visit an orofacial pain specialist also called as TMJ specialist and get a clinical check up done to know the cause.
Hi,
Removal of the wisdom tooth will relieve you from the TMJ discomfort hat you are having right now. After removal of the wisdom tooth, get a physical check up done again after a month to make sure there is no other underlying cause for TMJ discomfort.
