there are several potential reasons why you may be experiencing severe pain after your wisdom tooth extraction, even on the 9th day. It's important to consult your dentist or oral surgeon for a proper evaluation and advice specific to your situation. Here are a few possibilities: Dry socket: Dry socket is a condition that can occur after a tooth extraction, typically when the blood clot that forms in the socket becomes dislodged or dissolves too soon. This can lead to severe pain that radiates to the jaw and head. Your dentist can examine the extraction site to determine if this is the cause and provide appropriate treatment. Infection: Infections can sometimes develop after tooth extractions, causing pain and discomfort. Signs of infection may include increasing pain, swelling, redness, or discharge. If infection is suspected, your dentist may prescribe antibiotics to help resolve it. Nerve irritation or damage: Nerves near the extraction site can sometimes be affected during the procedure, leading to ongoing pain. Nerve-related pain may be sharp, shooting, or persistent. Your dentist can evaluate the area and refer you to a specialist if necessary. Healing complications: Some individuals may experience delayed healing or complications following a wisdom tooth extraction. This can be due to factors such as underlying medical conditions, poor oral hygiene, smoking, or excessive physical activity too soon after the extraction. It's important to reach out to your dentist as soon as possible to describe the severity of your pain and any associated symptoms. They will be able to assess your condition, determine the cause of the pain, and provide appropriate treatment or referrals as needed.

Maintain oral hygiene. Warm saline rinses thrice a day. Sometimes in cases of surgical extraction of wisdom tooth,  pain can remain for 7-10  days. Better Visit a local dentist/ Oral and maxillofacial surgeon for physical evaluation and treatment (if required)
