Irritation of nerve root will lead to spasm in the muscle along the nerve root if you have disc bulge along with nerve root irritation or local back pain without nerve root irritation. So incase your nerve root involvement all muscles along the nerve root get into spasmodic mode, you feel tightness, pain along the muscle. If you have only local back pain then back muscles, lateral leg muscles and gluts muscles are generally tight and psinful. But a thorough examination by physiotherapist is important.
Next Steps
Ask your physiotherapist to frame exercise which best suits you.It is not like that everyone do extension exercise. The exercise which decrease you pain suits best for you whether extension exercise or flexion exercise, according to mecKenzie model of derangement ( A evidence based approach)
Health Tips
Follow your therapist instructions of do's and don'ts.

Hello, cramps at night especially at legs often indicates iron deficiency. I would suggest you to continue with your strengthening exercises life long as well as alter your diet, include iron rich fruits/Vegetables like banana, chia seeds, coconut water in your diet.
Next Steps
Look out for vitamin D and B12 levels in your body via a blood test.
Health Tips
Visit to your nearby physiotherapist to get your exercise plan for strengthening of your back.
check for calcium and b12 deficiency, as it is common to get disc bulge and with two weeks of treatment with electrotherapy it must be reduced.
a week of strengthening exercises will help make muscles strong.
Hi, i believe u have an underlying deficiency of calcium or vit d3 or both. Is it possible to get it tested at a lab near u? Also can u plz post your mri in chat section to get a clear understanding?
Hello, your condition seems improving but hasn’t improved completely if you are still experiencing pain while exercising and tightness.may be there are still trigger points which are not released bcoz of which whenever you are exercising it’s getting stretched which pains .
As per my opinion search for a good myofascial trigger point release therapist or dry needling therapist near you to clear your trigger points .And maybe the changes that your MRI is showing in such early age is postural so for the postural correction you can go with kinesio taping .
As your trigger points will be released and your back will be supported with tape ,you can resume with your strengthening exercises.
Cramps in night could be bcoz of lack of exercises or some deficiency mainly calcium and vit D3.get your vitals tested.
In home program you can do hot fermentation for your back post exercises for 10 mins with heating pad followed with application of any anti inflammatory gel.
Hope this helps you ,get well soon.
It might be defiency of vitamin D and calcium, check ur sodium and potassium also sir.
Do changes in ur diet try to take calcium and vitamin d supplements.
Expose urself to early morning sun for 15-20 mins
