Why is my heart rate above 140 while eating?
It was consistently above 140 for 10 min the entire time I was eating.
I have recently stopped taking Revelol xl 50 since past 2 days for hypertension and only taking Dilnip T40 after consulting my doctor.
My TMT, Echo and ECG all came normal.
I am scared as to what can be the reason as I have also observed that my resting heart rate is also between 90 to 110 now.

Hello,
Thank you for sharing your concerns. Itâs understandable to feel worried when your heart rate goes above 140 bpm while eating, especially after stopping a medication like Revelol XL.
Here are some important points:
Medication Change:
Stopping beta-blockers like Revelol XL can cause your heart rate to increase because these medicines help slow the heart down. Your body may need some time to adjust, which could explain why your heart rate is higher during eating and even at rest.
Heart Rate Increase While Eating:
Eating can cause a temporary rise in heart rate due to increased blood flow to your digestive system and activation of your nervous system. However, a heart rate consistently over 140 bpm for 10 minutes is more than usual and should be monitored closely.
Normal Test Results:
Itâs reassuring that your TMT, Echo, and ECG are normal. This lowers the chance of serious heart disease causing your symptoms.
Next Steps:
Please keep monitoring your heart rate and any additional symptoms like chest discomfort, dizziness, or breathlessness.
If the symptoms persist or worsen, a more detailed clinical assessment may be helpful to tailor your treatment and provide personalized recommendations.
Feel free to reach out if youâd like a more in-depth review or guidance specific to your condition.
