I underwent a coronary angiogram to rule out stable angina.. I requested mild sedation due to anxiety, but it wasn’t given. My radial artery was very thin, requiring multiple puncture attempts, which caused discomfort.
My heart rate rose from 84 to 110, and during contrast injection, a warm uneasy sensation triggered panic, raising it to 130–135.
I asked to stop, but the procedure was completed somehow in 3-4 minutes..
I have been feeling embarrassed and upset about what happened in the Cath Lab.
I’m finding it hard to fully appreciate my results and would like to know whether this elevated heart rate could have affected the accuracy of the results. I’ve attached the angiogram report for your review.
