Hello 👋, A brief rise in heart rate during sleep — even up to 90–100 bpm for short periods — is usually not a concern, especially if your average resting rate is around 58 bpm, which is healthy. Such spikes can happen due to dreams, brief awakenings, change in sleep stage, anxiety, caffeine, or dehydration. ✅ What you can do: Avoid caffeine, alcohol, or heavy meals before bed. Stay well-hydrated and maintain a regular sleep schedule. Ensure your smartwatch is fitted properly — motion or loose fitting can give false spikes. ⚠️ Seek medical review if you notice: Persistent palpitations, dizziness, chest discomfort, or irregular beats. Frequent spikes >120 bpm during rest. Otherwise, nothing to worry — this pattern looks normal. you can reach me directly at 9555968one68

Hello, I am Dr. Romain Rajan, General Physician. Your case has been allotted to me. I understand your concern noticing heart rate spikes during sleep can be worrying, especially when you are otherwise healthy and have a normal average rate. However, mild fluctuations during sleep are quite common and often not serious. Advices Make sure you are well hydrated and avoid caffeine, alcohol, or heavy meals close to bedtime. Maintain a regular sleep schedule and manage stress through breathing or meditation before sleep. Check that your smartwatch strap is neither too tight nor too loose, as motion or poor contact can sometimes cause false readings. What to Monitor Whether you wake up with palpitations, sweating, or breathlessness during the night. If you feel dizzy, fatigued, or have irregular heartbeats during the day. Management With an average resting heart rate of 58 bpm and only brief spikes, it usually indicates normal heart rhythm variation related to dreaming, body movement, or short stress responses during sleep. You can continue observing your heart rate trend for a week. If spikes occur frequently or go beyond 120 bpm, an ECG or Holter monitoring may be advised. When to Consult a Doctor Immediately If you experience chest pain, pressure, or shortness of breath. If you feel fainting spells or persistent rapid heartbeat while resting. If heart rate remains above 100 bpm for long durations without reason. Every patient’s situation is unique. For accurate diagnosis and lasting reassurance, it is important to discuss your medical history and symptoms in detail. You can reach out to me directly for this case, and also connect with me in future for any medical consultation. I am available on Practo or on WhatsApp at 85271646 seven seven for a one-on-one consultation, where you will receive A personalized evaluation plan Safe recommendations if any investigations are required Quick follow-ups to track your progress Take care, wishing you good health. Best regards, Dr. Romain Rajan General Physician
