At elderly the immune system is naturally weaker normal cold cough can turn into other respiratory infection Sinarest provide relief in upper respiratory tract infection Since it has provided no relief after 7 days, the underlying cause could be  bacterial infection requiring antibiotics, or an inflammation of the lower airway is also possible
Next Steps
visit to general physician or pulmonologist and get proper physical examination, blood test and other pulmonary test done .
Health Tips
stop the sinarest keep hydrated by drinking warm water and non caffeinated herbal tea keep monitoring for symptoms like chest pain, breathlessness ,very high fever

At the age of 80 and continuous cough and cold with no relief to over the counter tablets would require much more examination… it could be flu but do consult a physician. To understand exactly what’s causing it… we require few blood tests and chest x ray

A cough and cold lasting 7 days with no relief from cinarest and cough syrup, at your age, usually means the infection needs a proper check-up rather than more over-the-counter medicine. It could be a viral infection taking its usual course, or it could be an early chest infection, which needs a doctor to examine your chest and oxygen levels directly.
Next Steps
Please see a general physician in the next day or two for a chest examination; blood tests or a chest X-ray may be needed if the cough hasn't started improving. Keep drinking warm fluids and rest in the meantime.
Health Tips
Go to the hospital the same day if there is breathlessness, high fever, confusion or you stop eating or drinking, since these need urgent attention at your age.
