Blood in sputum can be concerning for anyone, but this is the time to take the right steps. So, without panicking about this, first talk to a doctor and provide your complete medical history if needed.
To ease your worries, we can get a Sputum AFB test and a few other necessary tests done. However, blood can often appear in sputum even after a long period of coughing.
Apart from this, getting a few required tests done according to the need can resolve any doubts.
Next Steps
start vitamin C and PCM (1-0-1) if fever is there
rest of the medications will be specific to your History
Health Tips
Do CBC, Fever Profile(if Fever is present) and X-ray Chest.
Dear Patient,
Please rest assured that seeing a small amount of blood in your sputum after several days of coughing can be quite unsettling, but it is actually a very common occurrence.
When you have a persistent cough or cold for several days, the delicate lining (mucosa) of your throat and airways can become irritated and inflamed. Small, tiny blood vessels in that lining can break from the strain of coughing, leading to streaks of blood in your phlegm.
To ensure everything is healing properly and to pinpoint the exact cause, I recommend
Medical Evaluation & Basic Investigations: It would be best to get a routine chest X-ray, a basic blood test, and a sputum test.
Other than this stay hydrated and take rest

5 din se cold aur dry cough ke baad sputum mein blood aana kabhi-kabhi frequent/forceful coughing ki wajah se throat ya airway irritation se bhi ho sakta hai, lekin blood-stained sputum ko ignore nahi karna chahiye.
Agar blood sirf 1–2 baar ki halki streaks ke form mein hai aur otherwise breathing normal hai, tab bhi clinical assessment advisable hai. Aapko fever, breathlessness, chest pain, weight loss, night sweats, TB exposure ya smoking history hai ya nahi, ye details important hain.
Agar blood ki quantity badh rahi hai, baar-baar aa raha hai, fresh blood/clots aa rahe hain, ya saath mein सांस फूलना, chest pain, dizziness/weakness ho, to online advice ka wait na karein—urgent medical evaluation karwayein.
Aap consultation mein apni symptoms ki complete history share kar sakte hain; uske basis par main assess karne mein guide karungi ki further examination/investigations ki zarurat hai ya nahi.
New blood in your sputum after several days of cold and dry cough needs a doctor's eyes on it soon, even though it's often from irritation of the airway lining. It's not something to wait out.
Next Steps
Please see a physician within the next day or two for a chest examination and likely a chest X-ray to check what's causing it.
Health Tips
Watch for fever, breathlessness, or the bleeding getting heavier. If any of those show up, treat it as urgent and go in sooner.
