During pregnancy the test is Glucose challenge test. No starvation is required. You go to the Laboratory. There they will give you a measured amount of Glucose and take your blood for Glucose level after 90 minutes.

GtT is not done these days The current test of choices St sugar a challenge with 75 grams glucose This requires fasting sugar for which 10 to 12 hours fasting period is required After intake of 75 grams of glucose after 2 hours a blood sample is taken
