Hi, firstly I want to make you aware that your upper 2 front teeth (laterals) are missing on both the sides because of which you have gaps. Either you have got it removed or it is missing since birth, or it could be inside the bone in the upper jaw. This can be confirmed by taking an X-ray. Once that is found out, I would suggest you to go for braces/clip treatment since your upper left corner tooth(canine) is rotated and also if the laterals are inside the bone, it needs to be pulled down. This can be achieved only with the help of braces. Also, if you get a tooth coloured build up rather than braces, your tooth size may look bigger than the normal size. There are various options of braces. In case you are worried about how you may look with the braces, there are various options in braces. There are transparent/ invisible braces available called ‘aligners’ which are removable mouth guards that fit closely over your teeth (not adviced if you have teeth stuck inside the bone). You will be given a series of aligners which should be removed while eating and drinking. It is also possible to have braces glued to the back of your teeth (lingual braces) which are much less visible but can be more noticeable to the tongue and cause changes to speech initially. Next option would be fixed permanent braces available in tooth coloured varieties that blend in with the natural colour of your teeth. The wires used to straighten teeth can also be coated with a tooth coloured material. Lastly, If you are fine with braces being visible, you can go for metal braces as well!
Dental treatment involves follow ups as well.
In case you think you will be committed to regular recall appointment and want some quick fix
Simple fillings or veners is ok
But if you can bear with braces for certain duration of time do go for BRACES/ ALLIGNER only!
They might be bit time consuming as you see now, but nothing like to close gaps with natural teeth only.
Next Steps
consult good orthodontist
go for only fillings or veneers
no crowns or capping is required
Health Tips
trimming off healthy teeth, something not in my priority list ever.
choose wisely
Gap closure have two types of treatment approaches which is totally dependent on the time in which the treatment completes and the results are met.
Longer time involves braces and aligner. While short term treatment modalities are veneers/laminates,caps etc.
My suggestion will be Aligners if certain diagnostic procedures are followed they will meet your requirements to maximum.
Next Steps
if budget allows nothing like aligners
search about it on the web as much as you can it will give you more clarity in deciding.
Health Tips
Aligners not only will give you gap closure it will benefit in smile designing with simultaneuos improvement in proper alignment of the teeth so that keeping teeth free of cavity and clean can be easily achieved.
Hello Sir , Welcome to Practo , This is yoir Dentist -
Sir generally I prefer orthodontic procedure but by your age the best treatment plan would be Capping 12,11 & 21,22 by Zirconia(Top of the line in crowns) Rest is history . You dont even have to worry of what you are eating , no fear of breakage as in composite filling .
If any other query feel free to ask .
Thanks alot.
Hello Sir,
The gap between your teeth can be closed by 3 ways.
1.fixed orthodontic braces or brackets
2.Crowns and bridges
3.tooth coloured filings( composite)
In the first treatment option only problem is it need a bit longer time
Second is fast, but we will have to trim your natural teeth to place crown and bridge.in some cases intentional RCT is also needed before placing crown
Third procedure is faster but disadvantage is your teeth will look a bit bigger as we are going to close the gap by filling.
So you can decide what treatment you want
Next Steps
consult your dentist,do a thorough clinical examination
if in Bangalore you can contact me
Your pic suggests that apart from gap, your front two teeth are inclined towards inside also.
You need an orthodontist. He/she will place braces over your teeth. This procedure requires frequent visits for more than a year.
Hello
This a very minor gap.
You can go for veneers or composite build up, both of which have good ashthetic results.
Ortho treatment (braces) is an option, though not recommended for minor gap.
Next Steps
visit a dentist and get proper examination done, then decide with the doctor's help, the best solution for you.
