Your symptoms may be due to a viral upper respiratory tract infection. Please monitor your temperature, stay well hydrated, and take adequate rest. Saline nasal drops/ spray may help with nasal blockage. Since symptoms have persisted for 3 days, consult  if they worsen or do not improve. Seek urgent care for breathing difficulty, chest pain, confusion, or severe headache.

Likely acute viral upper respiratory tract infection. I suggest forvitals assessment, including temperature and SpO₂, and supportive management with adequate hydration, rest, saline nasal spray, and paracetamol if required. If fever/chills persist or symptoms worsen, consider CBC and targeted investigations based on clinical findings and local epidemiology..

Your symptoms may be due to an acute respiratory infection, but an examination may be needed to determine the cause. Please check and record your body temperature, blood glucose if you have a glucometer, and blood pressure if possible. Maintain adequate hydration and rest. Since you are 62 and may have diabetes, I recommend an in-person medical assessment today if the chills are continuing, particularly if your glucose is elevated or you feel increasingly unwell. Seek urgent care for breathing difficulty, chest pain, confusion, severe headache, persistent vomiting or marked weakness. Please also share your actual temperature readings, recent blood glucose levels, and the exact names of your regular medicines.
Next Steps
Vitals: temperature, pulse, BP, respiratory rate, SpO₂. Examination: hydration, upper respiratory tract, chest and sinuses. Investigations: guided by examination; consider COVID-19 or influenza testing where appropriate. Check glucose and consider other investigations if the clinical picture warrants them. Medication safety: verify the identity of the second medication. Avoid automatically prescribing antibiotics or combination cold medicines.

Hello, Your symptoms of mild feverishness, chills, nasal congestion, throat irritation, and heaviness in the head for three days are suggestive of an upper respiratory tract infection (URTI), most commonly caused by a virus. Other possibilities include allergic rhinitis or sinus inflammation. However, chills and feverishness favour an infectious cause. Most uncomplicated viral respiratory infections improve within 7–10 days with supportive treatment. Since you are 62 years old, monitoring your symptoms and temperature is particularly important.
Next Steps
Monitor your temperature and maintain adequate hydration. Use saline nasal spray or saline rinses to relieve nasal congestion. Take adequate rest and consider warm fluids for throat discomfort. Paracetamol (Dolo) may be used for fever or discomfort as directed, provided there are no contraindications. Avoid exceeding the recommended dosage. Consult a general physician, if chills persist. COVID-19 or influenza testing may be appropriate depending on clinical assessment and exposure history.
Health Tips
Avoid self-medicating with antibiotics, as they are generally ineffective against viral infections. Use caution with over-the-counter decongestants, especially if you have hypertension or heart disease. Seek medical attention if you experience breathing difficulty, chest pain, confusion, persistent high fever, severe headache, or worsening symptoms. If symptoms fail to improve over the next few days, further examination may be necessary. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Your fever with chills, eye burning, throat congestion and a blocked nose for three days usually points to a viral upper respiratory infection. This is common and usually settles on its own, even at 62. Paracetamol like Dolo is a reasonable way to manage your fever and discomfort.
Next Steps
Keep taking fluids and rest. Steam inhalation can ease your nasal congestion and throat irritation. Most viral infections like this settle within 5 to 7 days. If your fever is still there after that, or gets higher, please see a general physician.
Health Tips
Go in sooner if you develop breathlessness, severe weakness, or the fever climbs much higher, since at your age these need prompt evaluation.
