Fasting blood sugar
Hello doctors, I recently got my blood test done. My fasting blood sugar level is 100, HbA1c is 4.5 and average blood glucose is 82 , please suggest. Thank you.

A single fasting reading of 100, which is the border of normal and pre-diabetic, is not sufficient to label you as pre-diabetic. Make sure you have proper 10-12 hours of fasting before you check your fasting glucose level. HbA1c is a better marker in this case as it allows us to get an idea of the overall average over the past 3-4 months. 4.5g% is a normal value and not suggestive of pre-diabetes. Keep doing what you're doing and stay healthy!

Your fasting blood glucose is just on the border of pre diabetes range. Rest average sugar levels and HBA1C is ok. For treatment/prevention of pre-diabetes you have to consult. For further queries or guidance whatsapp nine three seven zero two eight four three seven six.
