DOXINATE OD throughout pregnancy safe?
I am currently 16 weeks pregnant. During first trimester I had lot of nausea and vomiting so doctor prescribed me DOXINATE OD tablet. That used to help in reducing the vomiting. After 13 weeks doctor told to stop the Doxinate OD thinking that nausea will now reduce. But I am 16 weeks now but nausea and vomiting is still same as before, not reduced at all. The day I am taking Doxinate OD tablet I am feeling better and less nauseous but the days I am not taking it, the nausea and vomiting is back. Please tell me is it safe to continue DOXINATE OD tablet throughout pregnancy as long as nausea and vomiting is there? Will it have any harmful effects on the baby? I have read about safety of normal Doxinate tablet but what about DOXINATE OD tablet? Please advise.

It is safe to continue throughout pregnancy. If you are feeling comfortable taking the tablets, I suggest you continue taking them. If you are still unsure , or experiencing nausea and vomiting inspite of taking the medication, please consult your Gynaec.

Doxinate OD is a doxylamine and vitamin B6 combination, one of the better studied options for nausea in pregnancy, and it's generally considered safe to continue through pregnancy when it's genuinely needed. Nausea coming back each time you stop it doesn't mean something is wrong, it usually just means you still need the medicine.
Next Steps
Go back to your obstetrician and tell them the nausea returned every time you stopped the tablet. They can decide whether to restart it and for how long, based on how you're doing overall.
Health Tips
See your doctor sooner if you're unable to keep food or fluids down, losing weight, or feeling very weak, since that needs more than tablets alone.
