My mother 66 aged has no diabetes and no BP.
8 to 10 Days before she had dry coughing and feeling of viral fever but no fever. After 4 to 5 Days of symptoms, one day in morning after tea she gets feeling of vomit but no vomit and get dizziness for half an hour. After that on Afternoon we get ECG which is normal and troponin i test which is also normal. On next day Dr. Told dizziness is not due to heart. Last 8 to 10 Days she also feeling of pitta in stomach. On day of dizziness she also feeling of thirsty. Dr. Given tablet for coughing and told to do rest. Now After 4 to 5 Days she also has dry coughing and After some walk outside for half an hour she covered with sweat, weakness and feel heating of environment during day time. She also feel restlessness After some half hour of walk. cbc was normal and CRP was 22 on day of dizziness. Dr checked her lungs but said normal. Dr. Told high crp is due to viral fever symptoms. Can you suggest what test required for dry coughing & dizziness.

What is the BP of your mother?
If she has no history of BP and diabetes Then also at least you must have to check BP.
Because sometimes after an illness BP fluctuates and with increasing age we have to regularly check the BP.
After taking full history, then after i can help you further.

Your mother’s persistent dry cough, dizziness, sweating, weakness, and restlessness on walking need further evaluation, especially considering her age. Although her ECG and troponin were normal, heart-related causes cannot be completely ruled out.
Recommended evaluation:
1. CBC with differential and repeat CRP
2. Chest X-ray
3. SpO₂ and temperature
4. Blood glucose, electrolytes, KFT, LFT
5. Blood pressure,
6. Repeat ECG
Health Tips
At 66 years of age, sweating, weakness, and restlessness after walking may sometimes indicate a heart problem, even without typical chest pain. Please arrange an appointment on Practo for proper medical assessment today.
Until evaluated, avoid strenuous walking. Do not attribute the elevated CRP solely to a viral infection without reassessing her persistent symptoms.
Hello,
Your mother's symptoms of dizziness, nausea, sweating, weakness, and persistent dry cough following a viral-like illness require further evaluation, particularly at 66 years of age.
Possible causes include:
Post-viral fatigue: Weakness and reduced exercise tolerance may persist after respiratory infections.
Dehydration or orthostatic hypotension: These can cause dizziness, thirst, nausea, and weakness.
Respiratory infection: Persistent cough with an elevated CRP may suggest ongoing inflammation or infection.
Cardiac causes: Sweating and weakness during walking can occasionally indicate cardiac ischaemia, even without typical chest pain.
Her CRP of 22 mg/L indicates inflammation but does not establish whether the cause is viral or bacterial.
Although the normal ECG and troponin are reassuring, they do not completely exclude all cardiac problems, especially when exertional symptoms continue.
Next Steps
Arrange a medical reassessment today, preferably with a general physician or internal medicine specialist, because she continues to experience weakness and sweating during walking. Check blood pressure (lying and standing), pulse, oxygen saturation, temperature, and blood glucose. Consider chest X-ray if the persistent cough has not already been investigated, particularly given her age and elevated CRP. Depending on clinical examination, investigations may include electrolytes, kidney function, glucose/HbA1c, and repeat CRP if clinically indicated. Because she experiences sweating and weakness with exertion, her physician should reassess whether further cardiac evaluation is required. If dizziness persists, a neurological and vestibular examination may help identify balance-related causes.
Health Tips
Encourage adequate hydration, regular meals, and rest. Avoid prolonged walks or strenuous activity until her symptoms have been assessed. Do not start antibiotics solely because CRP is elevated. Treatment should depend on clinical findings and evidence of bacterial infection. Seek medical attention if she experiences chest discomfort, breathlessness, fainting, confusion, severe dizziness, cold sweating, or sudden weakness. My recommendation: A post-viral illness is possible, but her age and recurrent sweating and weakness during physical activity make it important to exclude cardiac and respiratory causes before attributing everything to viral recovery. Her normal initial investigations are reassuring, but persistent symptoms warrant reassessment. Wishing your mother a speedy recovery!
A dry cough can persist after a viral illness. A normal lung examination does not completely exclude pneumonia or other lung problems.
Dehydration or postural hypotension: Her thirst and dizziness could be related to inadequate fluid intake or a drop in blood pressure on standing.
Heart-related exertional symptoms: Sweating, weakness and restlessness after walking may sometimes indicate a heart problem, even without chest pain. A normal ECG and troponin from several days ago do not exclude a new problem or intermittent cardiac disease.
Medication effects: Some cough medicines can cause dizziness, palpitations, sweating or restlessness.
Gastritis or acid reflux: Her feeling of pitta in the stomach may be acidity or reflux, which can also contribute to a dry cough.
CRP of 22 indicates inflammation but does not establish that the cause is viral. It can rise in both viral and bacterial infections.
The dry cough, dizziness and now heat intolerance with sweating after exertion sound like your body is still recovering from the recent viral illness. Since the cardiac causes are already ruled out, the restlessness and heat sensitivity are also worth checking against your thyroid, since a viral infection can sometimes trigger a temporary thyroid flare.
Next Steps
Ask your physician for a thyroid function test, a repeat CBC and ESR, and a chest X-ray if the dry cough continues past two to three weeks. These will show whether this is still settling post-viral inflammation or needs separate treatment.
Health Tips
See a doctor again soon if the dizziness becomes constant, you feel faint, or the cough brings up blood or thick coloured phlegm.
