Your child is having a steady growth and yes you can introduce eggs, homemade ghee and fish after 7 months.
Here is how you can include these foods:
- Whole egg which is soft boiled and mashed can be introduced after 7 months. First introduce in small quantity and then gradually increase it.
- Fish also can be introduced in small portions which is deboned and well-cooked as it's an excellent source of protein and omega-3.
- Homemade ghee can be started in small quantities for healthy fats and energy.

Your babyâs growth is quite good - from 2.5 kg at birth to 6.6 kg at 6 months and 5 days shows healthy progress. The current feeding schedule is generally appropriate, so continued breastfeeding, supplemented with 2â3 solid meals, is ideal at this age. Make sure solids are soft, mashed, and given in small portions. You can introduce homemade ghee now (start with a few drops in meals), and after completing 7 months, you may gradually start egg yolk (well-cooked) and later soft, boneless fish if thereâs no family allergy history. Always introduce one new food at a time, wait 3 days before adding another, and watch for rashes or stomach upset. Keep breastfeeding on demand. Hi
You could intoduce boiled egg ( mash) after 7 months
Kindly avoid feeding rice and lentils at 9 pm
It may cause digestion issues.
You may give it at 7 pm instead.
You could give the baby kanji( ragi or multi millet at 11 am or 3 pm.
Add boiled mashed apples, guava etc starting 8 months.Breast feed as much as possible until 8 complete months after which slowly add cows milk since a day and slowly start weaning the baby off the breast.
Your baby’s growth is good — 6.6 kg at 6.5 months (birth weight 2.5 kg) shows healthy progress. Current feeding routine is appropriate. Continue breastfeeding 6–8 times/day.
You can:
Replace Cerelac with homemade options like rice or ragi porridge.
Keep 2–3 small solid meals/day — khichdi, dal-rice, mashed fruits/veggies.
Avoid salt, sugar, honey, and cow’s milk till 1 year.
Introduce one new food at a time, watching for allergy.
After 7 months, you may add:
Egg yolk (well-cooked, start 1–2 tsp)
Homemade ghee (¼ tsp in food)
Soft, boneless fish (lightly cooked, once weekly)
Your plan looks good — just keep it fresh, simple, and varied.
Yes, you can introduce eggs, homemade ghee as it looks like baby is already adapted with the vegetables fruits and rice.
But i advise do not rush for non-veg food as kidneys are not developed properly at 6.5 month old.
First try with
1. mixer wheat/ jowar roti with moong dal
2. mixer wheat/ jowar roti with milk
3. semolina (rava) with single vegetable
4. moong dal-rice-veg in pureed form
Try this combination first and see if baby is tolerating it well or not (e.g.- loose motion, vomiting, blotting, etc.) If this happens then don't give combination for some period of time and see to doctor.
Next Steps
If baby is accepting the combination food without any complaint then slowly add non-veg food. (1 and 1/2 month or two months after). only one food item at a time.
Health Tips
Give some time after introducing any food to baby ( approx. 3-5 days). by doing this you will come to know if baby is allergic to anything or not. if any complaints are their seek for doctor opinion immediately.
Looks fine. Baby growth is also good. Market base cerelac is not healthy for babies better to make it at home. There are different ways and different taste that you can prepare it and give it to the child. Fish you can add on after 7th-8th month
