Loose motions for 1 week - likely infective diarrhea (viral/bacterial). Main treatment is rehydration + symptomatic care. Treatment : 1. ORS (most important) - Sip frequently (after each stool) 2. Tab Zinc 20 mg OD × 10–14 days 3. Lactobacillus BD × 5 days 4. Antidiarrheal (if needed) - Tab Loperamide 2 mg after each loose stool (max 8 mg/day, avoid if fever/blood in stool) 5. If bacterial suspected (fever, persistent >5–7 days): Tab Azithromycin 500 mg OD × 3 days Diet Light diet: rice, curd, banana Avoid oily/spicy food, outside food
Next Steps
Continue ORS + zinc Do stool routine + culture if not improving Check for dehydration Consult doctor if persists >7 days
Health Tips
Watch for: - Dehydration (dry mouth, low urine) - Blood in stool - High fever If present - urgent medical care

Was there any history of outside food consumption? Mostly it is viral enteritis and is self limiting which means only with hydration and good gut health it will heal and doesn’t need to be prescribed antibiotics

Hi, I can understand your concern. It can be due to mild gastritis. Need to take bland items, no oil no spice diet like rice kanji or poha. Can take cap. Bifilac 3 times a day before food for 5 days. Drink ors liquid one litre per day in divided doses.
