HbA1c more than 6 shows that your blood sugar is not under normal values and needs to control it further. In order to plan your food ,I need to understand your food habits and your routine of the day. Being south indian doesnot necessarily needs to eat only rice preparation. In order to control your sugar with regular food habits involves regular exercise with minimum 45  minutes of brisk walk with food combinations including complex carbohydrates with low Glycaemic index food like whole cereals red  unpolished rice , include more vegetables and salads.Reduce fat sources which come from white flour based products like bakery  products Eat protein rich food like whole pulses, especially moong , chana and rajmah, eggs fish and chicken, if non vegetarian. You need to make lifestyle modifications to live healthily with your Diabetes.
