Depression
My daughter is going through situational depression and doctor had suggested 1 Clonazepam each day. Is it safe? I have read lot of side effects to it.

Hi to treat depression you need to take Counseling sessions along with medication which helps you to  overcome from present condition. It will help you to reduce your medicine intake for some time & also you can stop medicines with doctors advice. When doctor says you are ok.

It is safe until taken by the advise of doctor. Beside medicine she needs psychological treatment also.

She can continue with the medication nothing to worry.. Yet, it is advisable to take some Counselling sessions too for quicker result..

Hi... I hope it is prescribed by a Psychiatrist after proper examination and not by a regular Physician. If a Psychiatrist has prescribed it, please trust his professional acumen or consult another Psychiatrist for second opinion if you have any doubts. Clonazepam is a SSRI that works by increasing the overall effect of GABA chemicals in our brain which produces relaxation.
