Carpel tunnel syndrome is the pai that gives in the wrist and fingers but cervical pain is something that worsens ans radiates from neck to shoulder, elbow, wrist and fingers.
Take her to neuro physician or physiotherapy clinic for proper assessment of the condition and treatment.
Hello ma'am,
Your question has two parts first I will answer the first one..Clinically CTS(carpal tunnel syndrome)
1-generally unilateral
2-tenderness in wrist over the carpal tunnel
3-night pain
4-willing to shake hands to relieve symptoms
5-pins and needles in thumb, first two fingers
6-symotoms goes upto forearm
CR (cervical radiculopathy)
1-can be unilateral/bilateral
2-symptoms can be aggravated by the bad neck postures or prolonged bending.
3-numbness and parasthesia down the arms till fingers.
Though sometimes it's very difficult to differentiate between two..
Now the second part..your mother is having CTS or not that can only be determined by proper physical examination.
You can go through the above symptoms and judge, although needs to be consulted with a physio.
Next Steps
consult a nearby Physiotherapy clinic, for proper musculoskelatal assessment and further course of action.
Cervical radiculopathy will have pain in the neck and it radiates through shoulder until fingers.where as carpel tunnel syndrome will have a pinching pain in the wrist and fingers
