Don’t panic. Here's what the report means: Normocytic Normochromic: Red blood cells are normal in size and color — no anemia or mild anemia. Leucopenia: Low white blood cell count — may indicate infection, viral illness, or bone marrow suppression. Thrombocytopenia: Low platelet count — can be due to infection, autoimmune causes, medication, or rarely blood disorders. Is it serious? It can be, depending on the cause. But it’s not necessarily cancer. Many treatable conditions like viral infections or vitamin deficiencies can cause this picture.
Next Steps
What to do: Repeat CBC after a few days. Rule out infections (like dengue, HIV, hepatitis). Consult a hematologist if counts stay low.
Health Tips
With proper evaluation, most causes are treatable. Don’t worry—just act early.

Normocytic normochromic blood picture with leucopenia and thrombocytopenia means normal red cell size and color, but low white blood cells and platelets. This pattern can be seen in viral infections, bone marrow suppression, autoimmune conditions, or rarely blood cancers—but not always cancer-related. Please don’t panic yet.
Next Steps
Repeat CBC, peripheral smear, and consult a hematologist. Further tests like bone marrow study may be needed to identify the cause.
Health Tips
Avoid self-medication. Ensure he avoids infections and bleeding risk till the counts improve or are evaluated. Early evaluation helps better management.

Please don’t panic. A low white blood cell count (leucopenia) and low platelet count (thrombocytopenia) do not necessarily mean cancer. These findings are often seen in common viral infections, especially Dengue. Kindly share more details about why these tests were done and also upload the CBC report, so we can guide you better regarding further evaluation.
