Mosquitoes near medicine cap – Is it still safe to drink?
I have been using this syrup (Digeraft Plus) for the past two days.
Every day, I measure it using the medicine cap and drink directly from the cap.
I didn’t clean the cap properly.
Today, when I opened the bottle to take the syrup, I saw some medicine around the cap and also noticed a few mosquitoes near it.
Can I still safely drink this medicine?
I am also taking Vasoprazan (acid-reducing medicine) daily.
Please guide.

You are more interested in the welfare of mosquitoes than your own welfare.
By drinking your medicine from that cap you may not get Malaria or Dengue but you can surely get food poisoning.
Mosquitoes and in common any insects could spread infections . so discarding such potentially infected medicine would be a prudent move as a health conscious person. i would leave it your discretion whether to use the contaminated syrup or spend another petty amount to buy a new bottle of syrup.
You need to understand the nature of mosquitoes. They are usually attracted to sweat, and the rainy season is the most active time for them. To prevent mosquito breeding, clean bottles with fresh water regularly, keep them in a cool place, and do not leave them exposed. Yes, you can use them after taking these precautions
There’s no problem in continuing the syrup if the mosquitoes were only near the cap and the inside of the bottle remains uncontaminated. You can safely use it. However, please make sure to maintain proper hygiene going forward — always clean the cap after use, avoid drinking directly from it, and use a clean spoon or measuring cup instead. Store the bottle in a cool, dry place with the cap tightly closed.

Thank you for sharing your concern in detail. Based on what you've described, the syrup itself is likely still safe if the cap was only externally exposed and no insects or contaminants entered the bottle.
However, to maintain hygiene and avoid any risk:
Do not drink directly from the cap going forward.
Always rinse the cap before and after use.
If the syrup inside looks, smells, or tastes abnormal, discard it.
Next Steps
Next Steps:
Continue using the syrup with a clean spoon or dosing cup. If in doubt, you can replace the bottle for safety.
Health Tips
Helpful Tip:
Store all medications in a cool, dry place and keep caps tightly closed to avoid attracting insects.
Word of Caution:
Avoid ingesting medicine contaminated by insects or improperly stored. While the chance of harm is low here, better hygiene ensures better health.
