I woke up with blocked nose and mild throat pain(only uncomfortable when swallowing) and also the temperature was 99 and reached till
101.9. As I have prebooked full body check up for today and got the above mentioned symptoms. I still went through giving sample for blood test. The results show that TSH is 6 where as T3,T4 are within the limits. Also ESR is comparitively high. CRP is also higher than mentioned intervals. Please suggest if this has anything to do with fever? Should I go for a retest after fews days once my fever is gone? Please help me understand. Thank you in advance

Elevated crp n esr suggest that there is an infection inside body which can be the reason for your fever. Please consult a physician for further evaluation and diagnosis.
CRP and ESR are certainly linked with fever. You should consult a General Physician with all your reports. Tell the Doctor about your symptoms.
You should get your CRP done again when you are afebrile for at least a week.
Your raised ESR & CRP are most likely due to the fever/infection and not a cause for concern right now. The TSH is mildly elevated, but since T3 & T4 are normal, it may be a temporary change. I suggest repeating thyroid profile 4–6 weeks after recovery. If still high, then evaluation for hypothyroidism is needed.

High CRP and ESR are more likely due to the fever and cold. It can sometimes influence TSH results as well.
Repeat tests after a month.
Take tab azithromycin 500mg one daily for 3 days.
Tab paracetamol 500mg one every 8hours for 3 to 4 days.
Tab cetrizine 10mg one daily for 5 days, do steam inhalation and hot saline gargles, 2 to 3 times daily.
Infection does cause high ESR but finding out the source of infection is more important than treating just the fever. Since you have a blocked nose and sore throat I am guessing it might be an upper respiratory infection. But I need more history to know more.

Hello Ma’am,
Your high ESR and CRP are most likely due to the current fever and throat infection, as these markers rise with infections and inflammation. TSH being mildly raised with normal T3/T4 suggests subclinical thyroid issue, but it should be rechecked after you recover. A repeat test once fever subsides will give a clearer picture.

ESR N CRP tend to increase during fever , they will normalise once the infection is controlled. Sometimes TSH may be elevated, repeat the test after 6 weeks to confirm mild subclinical hypothyroidism and can get treated if it’s elevated then also or increasing
